Author 411: Charles Cumming

Charles Cumming’s sixth novel, The Trinity Six, makes it across the pond, releasing in the States tomorrow. We had a chance to hear Cumming at the NEIBA 10 author breakfast and his engaging, intelligent demeanor absorbed the crowd. So, before you run out and get this latest spy novel, here is the 411 on it’s author.

  • Charles was born in Scotland in 1971.
  • Graduated First Class Honors in English Literature from University of Edinburgh.
  • His first novel, A Spy by Nature, was influenced by his own experience, when he was recruited by MI6 after graduation.
  • A Spy by Nature was optioned for a movie and the screenplay was written by John Hodge.  John Hodge wrote the screenplays for Shallow Grave and Trainspotting.
  • Published an interactive online story with Penguin, that can be found here.
  • A Spy by Nature and The Spanish Game are based on the same character, Alec Milius.  Cumming intends to write a thrid novel to make an Alec Milius trilogy.
  • Lives in Madrid
