Boston Book Bums is a site written by lovers of books and would-be writers of books. We adhere to journalistic ethics, so any books offered to or requested by Boston Book Bums, and received for free, will be duly noted as such. Any book purchased for review by the Boston Book Bums team, will also be noted too.
The reviews and recommendations are designed to span many interests and genres. Unlike many book blogs, here you could see horror one day and historical non-fiction the next. We are a diverse lot, with a plethora of interests and all we seek is to put our two cents into the book buying kitty.
We read literary fiction, YA, science-fiction and fantasy; as well as women’s fiction, thrillers and the neglected works of non-fiction, in particular history.
Most especially, we are no snobs when it comes to methods of publishing. So, if you are an indie writer, who churned out a product on your own, did the Print on Demand route or self publishing method, don’t be afraid to drop us a line for a review. If we think its something we’d read on our own, we’ll let you know. But at least try us first.
We have just become part of the e-reader crowd and will read, on occasion, e-books. But to let you know, our e-reader user currently only uses it for 10% of titles scoured each year. So its a limited outlet.
Also, we do this blog for fun. We do not make any money off it and resolutely refuse to take part in any affiliate program. We’re in it for the love of the printed word.
