The UK has some perfect locations for a romantic break and I am speaking from experience when I say that everything which you could possibly need for a break packed with relaxation, tranquility and each other’s company can be found right here in Great Britain. Before you book that flight, take a look at some of the great places which can be found on your doorstep.
Cornwall
Whether you are looking for a quiet retreat, a sea view, a quaint cottage in a small town or a luxury hotel Cornwall makes for the perfect place for a romantic break, in fact I took my wife here on honeymoon many years ago. Cornwall has so much for couples to enjoy from coastal walks to romantic events such as the glorious Mince theater, sat on a clifftop. You could even do some luxury camping here and there are many campsites in Cornwall which offer yurts and luxury teepees for you to enjoy.
Edinburgh
For a slightly busier romanic getaway Edinburgh makes for the perfect choice, a medieval city which, despite its capital status, is actually very quiet and relaxing. Here you can take a walk through the historic areas of the city, stroll at night down the lively Prince’s Street or take a walk up to Carlton Hill, which sits in the center of the city and offers some incredible views. Edinburgh fits all needs and there are many luxury spa hotels, boutique hotels offering something a little different, as well as quite private rentals which are close enough to the city to enjoy it, but far enough away to enjoy each other’s company.
Lake District
The idea of a romantic break often conjures up ideas of renting a private cottage somewhere in the wild, with a warm hearth and a big bed, and plenty of places to go out walking and spending some quality time with one another. If this is your idea of a romantic break then look no further than the lake district in northern England. The lakes is a huge area of natural splendor and dotted throughout are small towns and residences which offer any couple the most beautiful place to stay, where they can enjoy all of the trappings of nature by day, and enjoy the country life by night. Head to a small local pub for a bite to eat before retiring to your private cottage or boutique hotel for the evening. When you stay in the lakes you simply feel miles away from everywhere and everyone, the perfect environment to enjoy a glorious romantic break with your partner.
